Working with Grief

This series of workshops are facilitated by our highly trained Counselling Team at The Kirkwood.

This 1-day CPD accredited workshop, facilitated by our highly qualified Counselling Team, looks at understanding the physical, emotional and psychological effects of grief and will enable participants to develop their skills and knowledge when working with bereaved people.

Topics will include:

  • Identify how grief manifests in different individuals
  • Recognise the elements of the grieving process
  • Understand how attachment is central to working with grief
  • Link models and theories to grief and lived experiences
  • Understand the importance of rites & rituals in processing grief

It is well known that repeated contact with patients who are dying or supporting bereaved relatives can and does affect professionals.

The session also focusses on the theoretical and diagnostic aspects of complicated and prolonged grief. It is experiential in nature with opportunities for case discussion and skills work.
