Donating to Shops
We rely on your donations to raise vital funds to care for our patients and their families. Your generosity helps us to keep our shops filled with high quality stock, meaning we can raise as much money as possible for those in our care.
Due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, a small number of our shops are currently closed. Following the government’s announcement on 15 June that shops selling non-essential goods could open again, we are delighted to announce that we have now reopened a number of our shops.
Unfortunately we are not able to accept donations at any of our shops that are currently closed. If your local shop isn't open at the moment, we would be delighted if you could consider holding on to them for a little while for us. Your donations will make a huge difference when we reopen.
Once our shops reopen they will be accepting donations again. In order to keep both our customers and teams safe, we will need to quarantine all donations for 72 hours. This may cause a backlog in processing, so we would encourage you to give your local shop a call before dropping off your items - just to make sure we have space to accomodate your generous donations.
What kind of things can I donate?
If you would like to help by donating any unwanted items to The Kirkwood, we would be delighted to receive them, You can donate any saleable items, including clothes, shoes, books, CDs, household items, collectables and anything else you think will help to raise money for the Hospice. We also sell electrical items, which are all tested prior to sale, and small pieces of furniture.
Even the items that you think may not sell such as bras, belts, socks, vests and worn/damaged clothing can still raise us money by recycling through one of our many agents.
If you are unable to drop off items, please call our Retail team on: 01484 557 917 and we will be glad to collect from your home.
