Kirkwood’s Longest Supporter
Two-year-old Miniature Dachshund, Frankie, is a keen supporter of Kirkwood and loves to visit his Auntie and Kirkwood Nurse, Anna-Marie Wilkinson. Back in June, Frankie took a weekend off from his full-time role as Chief Meeter and Greeter at Pets at Home to take part in Kirkwood’s Midnight Memory Walk - raising an amazing £453 for patient care.
Internet famous Frankie took part in Kirkwood’s Midnight Memory Walk back in June with Mum, Judy Laine, in honour of the work his Auntie does on Kirkwood’s In-Patient Unit.
Frankie completed the 10-mile route with ease on Saturday 23rd June and raised a staggering £453.48 through sponsors on his online JustGiving page titled ‘Frankie to walk 10 miles’.
The page read: “Aunty Anna loves her job. She cares for not only the patients in her care, but also their closest loved ones.

“Aunty Anna is a nurse who laughs and cries every day. She does a job that most of us could not even imagine doing.
“I want to walk ten miles to help the amazing nurses at Kirkwood so they can continue to do what they do best. They give love and laughter to life.”
When Frankie isn’t visiting Yorkshire, his typical day is spent working at Pets at Home with his Mum in his hometown of Nottingham, playing the role of Chief Meet and Greeter.
Frankie and his Auntie Anna-Marie
He has been working at Pets at Home since he was 9 weeks old and has never missed a day’s work. Frankie loves to cause mischief with his colleagues and run around the store before it opens to the public.
During opening hours, Frankie spends the day greeting customers on the tills with his bubbly energy and tests all the products before taking a short walk down to the canal at lunchtimes.
Judy said: “I was worried about him getting too attached to me, but he’s always sitting on everyone else’s knees.
“His colleagues love him and the customers love him. They’re always bringing him gifts.”
Since April, Frankie’s cheeky antics have gained quite a following on social media, as Judy regularly posts updates about Frankie’s day.

His Facebook and Instagram accounts have gained over 6,000 followers collectively, with fans from all over the world including America, Puerto Rico, Brazil and Canada sharing images of their own furry companions with the pages.
On behalf of all the team, Kirkwood would like to thank both Frankie and Judy for their continued support.
