Midnight Memory Walk
Every year, hundreds of families, friends and colleagues come together to celebrate the lives of those they love and walk in their honour at the Midnight Memory Walk. This year, we might be doing things a little bit differently, but we won't let a global pandemic stop us from lacing up for those we love.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: Midnight Memory Walk 2020 event officially cancelled
It is with a heavy heart that we have made the difficult decision to cancel this year’s Midnight Memory Walk, which was due to take place Saturday 10th October 2020. For all those who have already registered to take part, we're still set to hold the Virtual Memory Walk, and we'll automatically transfer your place across to this event (unless you ask us not to).
When we made the decision to postpone the Midnight Memory Walk earlier this year and reschedule it for October, it was difficult to predict the future impact the coronavirus would have, but we got our thinking caps on and started planning an event which you could get excited about being a part of, and feel safe about attending. But as the coronavirus pandemic continues to affect our daily lives, and with uncertainty as to when mass participation events might be allowed again, it is clear that holding the Midnight Memory Walk on Saturday 10th October simply won’t be possible.
Our team of fundraisers and volunteers put their heart and soul into organising this special event, which brings our community together to remember those special people in all our lives. We did everything we could to find a solution and are devastated by today's decision.
Take part in our Virtual Memory Walk - whenever and wherever you like!
The Midnight Memory Walk might not be taking place on Saturday 10th October, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still walk in memory of those you love and help Kirkwood to raise much needed funds to care for local families.
Our Virtual Memory Walk is your chance to take on the six or 10 mile challenge in your own time. You choose the route, the date and the time (no late night required)! And you can walk with anyone you like – we just ask you to make sure you’re following social distancing guidelines.
When you sign up, we'll send you your Memory Walk T-Shirt, Walker Pack and sponsor forms - so you'l be all ready to go! And once you’ve completed your walk, you’ll even get a medal to show off your proud achievement. If you’ve registered any four-legged friends, we’ll send them a special medal too!
Just make sure to track your walk send it in to us as evidence for completing your challenge. We've added some handy tips on how to do this as a download at the bottom of this page.
