Farm Fun at T3 Farm Challenge raises huge funds for Kirkwood Hospice
Now in its fourth year, Saturday 19th August saw hundreds of eager fundraisers of all ages and abilities turn out for a day in the mud at the Annual T3 Farm Challenge held at Still House Farm, Batley.
Terminating as usual in a grand mud bath and raising thousands for the care of patients with life-limiting illnesses at Kirkwood Hospice, the adrenaline-packed 5k Challenge involved contestants climbing giant mounds of tyres, swimming through freezing cold water and shooting head-first down water slides amongst other daunting obstacles.
The event, which includes an alternative course for younger entrants and finishes with a lively After Party, attracted well over 200 participants and stacked up a whopping £4,313.29 for the Dalton-based Hospice.

Since its inception just over four years ago, the thrill-seeking event has raised a grand total of £27,793.73 towards patient care.
With the setting of Claire and Darren Ellarby’s Still House Farm in Upper Batley, the Challenge opted for a new venue for 2017 to bring the event back home and collaborate with Claire and her team who devote immense time and effort to raising charitable funds.
Owners of the T3 Wellbeing Centre in Dewsbury, Danny Thomas and James Ashton, along with friends, Katie Ellis and Sarah Brooks, came up with the idea for the Challenge as a fundraising vehicle for worthy causes.

Working tirelessly to get the course ready in time, the team were thrilled with the financial outcome of this year’s event.
At a recent cheque presentation reflecting on the success of the day, the Event Organisers said:
“The T3 Farm Challenge creates an exciting event for the local community, bringing people together to raise money for a worthy cause, like Kirkwood Hospice.
“We are absolutely delighted to have raised £4,313.29 for Kirkwood Hospice and a further £1,286.40 for the Yorkshire Down Syndrome Group.

“We are even more excited with the results as we weren’t sure how a new venue would go down with the contestants and we reduced ticket prices in a bid to drum up new faces.
“We could not have had another successful year without the sponsors of the challenge: JB Pallets, Wilsons Underlays, Bradford Hydroponics and Henley Stone. We are also indebted to the teams at Arthur Brooks, Tom Mcgrant and Carl Roberts for their help in preparing the course, and Claire and Darren, for working so well with us given the challenges we faced throughout.”
