The Kirkwood Memory Walk is back for 2023!

For over a decade, our biggest event of the year, The Kirkwood Memory Walk has brought our community together to take on an incredible challenge in memory of their loved ones. More than just a fundraiser, our flagship event is something truly special, a chance to join with family and friends, remember the special people in our lives and celebrate their legacy.

And with our brand-new venue, The John Smith’s Stadium, and start time of 10pm, it’s sure to be the best one yet! We want the whole of Kirklees to walk with us, that’s why we’re bringing the start time forward to 10pm, making it even easier for families to come along!

The Kirkwood is needed more than ever, and the funds raised through our Memory Walk make a big difference to patients and their loved ones. It is only thanks to the generosity of local people that we can continue our care. And there's nothing quite like the feeling you get when you cross the finish line, knowing you have helped our hard-working nurses and doctors to continue their vital work for patients and families right here in Kirklees.

Every penny raised in sponsorship makes such a difference to the patients and families that we care for, across the whole of Kirklees. From Golcar to Gomersal, Kirkheaton to Cleckheaton. We’re here for everyone in Kirklees, when they need us most.

A circular route, starting and ending at John Smiths Stadium, you can decide on the night whether you would like to walk 6 or 10 miles in memory of your loved ones. The Kirkwood Memory Walk will take place on Saturday, 1st July, with entertainment beginning at 8pm to get you warmed up and ready for what will be an amazing night, and what’s more, if you sign up before Sunday, 30th April, you’ll be able to take advantage of our special Early Bird offer of just £10 for adults and £8 for children under 16.

Whoever you choose to walk for, your grandma, grandad, husband, wife, or friend, we hope you'll join us and walk in memory of someone special this July.
