The Kirkwood set to feature on the Terriers’ Away shirt vs. Cardiff

The Kirkwood is set to make its big debut on a Huddersfield Town shirt during tonight's Sky Bet Championship fixture against Cardiff City. It's all part of an innovative partnership between the club and a number of local charities. And The Kirkwood is honoured and privileged to be part of it.

Back in November, Huddersfield Town announced they would be supporting three local charities throughout the remaining away fixtures of the 2020-21 Sky Bet Championship campaign. Now, with the fixtures coming thick and fast during a packed schedule of games, The Kirkwood logo is all set to make it's big debut versus Cardiff City.

The Terriers will proudly wear The Kirkwood wordmark on the front of the red away shirt during tonight's game (Tuesday 1st December).

Fans will even be able to have The Kirkwood printed on new and pre-bought shirts once the club are able to reopen their stores. There will be a charge of £5 for this with a donation of £2.50 coming to us. 

Huddersfield Town's generosity presents a huge opportunity for us to gain valuable exposure about the many ways The Kirkwood Support Life across Kirklees.

Together, we support those in our care to live well and make the most of every single day. When time is short, we make the complex simple, helping patients and those closest to them to focus on what matters to them.

In the future, we want more people to reach out for our care, and we're working hard to inspire new supporters so we can continue to make a positive difference across our community. 

Chief Executive, Michael Crowther was understandably delighted by the news.

“To be asked to feature on the front of Huddersfield Town’s away shirt is a huge honour; it’s fantastic exposure for us.

“As a local charity, many of the people we care for are huge Town fans, and over the years, we have developed a fantastic relationship with the Club.

“Locally, we know there are many people living with a life limiting illness who may benefit from our services. But many don’t reach out soon enough for us to make a positive difference to their quality of life. Sometimes they don’t reach out at all. We hope that this collaboration will encourage Town fans to find out more about the many ways The Kirkwood help patients and families across Kirklees.

Our wordmark, The Kirkwood Support Life, is part of a refreshed identity, which signifies the start of a new era for our local charity. Our new identity is a rallying cry. A call to arms to all those in our community who believe people affected by a life limiting illness deserve the very best, compassionate care. Care which helps to improve quality of life – for however long that may be. It was created in partnership with Huddersfield-based design studio Kenyon Weston, who took on the project at no cost to The Kirkwood. A labour love for our friends at Kenyon Weston, we are indebted to them for their amazing contribution, which will help us to care for more people than ever before in the coming years.

As well as supporting local charities, Huddersfield Town are offering local businesses the chance to feature on the home shirt during the current campaign, via a match-by-match draw. The club are making 20 tickets available for each game at just £250 + VAT each.
