The Kirkwood features in the Britain in Bloom newsletter

Every year, we are proud to enter the prestigous Yorkshire in Bloom awards to showcase the work our Volunteer Gardeners and Facilities Team do all year round and we are delighted to be featured in this month's Yorkshire in Bloom newsletter.

Our wonderful team of Volunteer Gardeners usually spend many hours a week maintaining our hospice garden, planting seasonal flowers and developing new areas for our patients, families and colleagues to enjoy all year round. However, this year's plans were unfortunately postponed as the COVID-19 pandemic hit the UK back in March, and our gardeners were unable to volunteer with us.

Throughout lockdown, our Facilities Co-ordinator, Sue Wood, and Maintenance Team maintained the garden until the team were able to return. Sue was recently given the chance to feature in Yorkshire in Bloom's October newsletter and we are delighted to see the edition come to life!

To read the newsletter, download the PDF at the bottom of the page or click here.

Keep an eye out on our website and social media pages as we share an update from one of our volunteer gardeners.
