Gwen scoops £3,000 prize

A long time member of the Kirkwood Hospice Lottery received a very welcome boost in the run up to the festive period!

Commited Hospice supporter, Gwen Lodge, received some good news just before Christmas - finding out that she had scooped the jackpot in Kirkwood's Make A Difference Superdraw.

81 year old Gwen took home the bumper £3,000 prize after buying a single ticket in the Hospice's Kirkburton shop.

A long time player, Gwen first joined the Hospice's Lottery way back in the year 2000 and was understandably over the moon to pick up first prize in Kirkwood's largest single draw of the year.

The money came at a good time for Gwen, who had just had her roof fixed. So the money will be put to use straight away!

Lottery Manager, Dawn Walker, was delighted to be able to present the cheque to the lucky winner in person and asked Kirkwood Chief Executive to hand over the cheque.

Kirkwood Chief Executive, Michael Crowther, hands over the winning cheque to Gwen Lodge just days before Christmas!

Dawn said: "It's always lovely to meet our Lottery winners. Gwen has been playing since 2000, so it's brilliant to be able to hand over the cheque in person and say a big thank you for all her years of support."
