Good coffee for a great cause at Community Library

In an exciting new venture, Kirkwood has teamed up with the Denby Dale Community Library Project to launch a brand new café and gift shop at the recently opened Library in Denby Dale. Offering a wide range of teas, coffees and sweet treats, as well as a great range of gifts, Kirkwood hopes that the new library will become the hub of the village.

A brand new community library opened in Denby Dale in late January – and Kirkwood Hospice has partnered with the library to run a gift shop and café on site.

The new library is the fruit of many years hard work for the team behind the project. The aim was to save Denby Dale’s threatened village library by raising funds to construct and establish a new community building and the Hospice was delighted to be asked to run a gift and coffee shop on site.

New Denby Dale Shop Manager, Ann Hoyle, is certain that the the venture will go from strength to strength.

"The Denby Dale Community Library is a brilliant opportunity for Kirkwood to play a bigger role in the local community." Ann Hoyle

She said: “The Denby Dale Community Library is a brilliant opportunity for Kirkwood to play a bigger role in the local community. We are delighted with how positive the reaction has been.

“Kirkwood’s volunteers are playing a prominent role in both our gift shop and café. I’d like to say a massive thank you to them for their incredible efforts. Without their enthusiasm, this would not have been possible.”
