Defyre Limited sponsor The Kirkwood’s Bunny Hop campaign
Defyre Limited announced as headline sponsor for The Kirkwood’s Bunny Hop. The Kirkwood is delighted to announce that Defyre Limited, a valued member of The Kirkwood Business Movement, will be sponsoring this year’s much-loved Bunny Hop fundraising campaign.
The Bunny Hop encourages schools, nurseries and families across Kirklees to get active while raising vital funds to support The Kirkwood’s care for local people living with life limiting illnesses. Daniel Charlesworth, Director of Defyre Limited and Ellis McNair (co Director) are a proud partner of The Kirkwood Business Movement, and supporting the Bunny Hop campaign was an easy decision for the business. He said: “Sponsoring the Bunny Hop campaign felt like a really natural fit for us. I’ve got two young children myself, so anything that engages families and young people locally is something we’re keen to support. It’s a brilliant campaign because it helps introduce children to The Kirkwood in a really simple and positive way. It allows schools and families to understand what the charity does while also raising vital support.”
As a company working closely within the local community, Defyre Limited has developed a strong connection with The Kirkwood through its involvement in the Business Movement. He commented: “The Kirkwood Business Movement has been a vital part of our company. As proud members, we’re able to connect with the local community and other businesses through regular meetings,” Daniel explained. “Beverley, the Business Development Manager for The Kirkwood, has been amazing at helping us meet other companies for future collaborations, and we really value the platform these events give us to grow our business.”

Alongside supporting fundraising initiatives, Defyre Limited has also worked directly with The Kirkwood to help ensure the charity’s safety and security systems remain up to date. He said: “It’s been wonderful to work directly with The Kirkwood and support the charity in practical ways too. We’re really proud to be connected with something local where we can genuinely make a difference.”
Daniel added that sponsorship also carries personal meaning, reflecting the impact hospice care has across the community: “The Kirkwood sets such a high standard when it comes to caring for people with life limiting illnesses. Their work is truly compassionate and so important within our community. The business events we’ve attended support their amazing efforts, and we’ve seen firsthand how that support helps The Kirkwood care even better for patients and families. It’s a real honor to play a part in helping them continue that mission “
On Defyre's support The Kirkwood’s Business Movement Development Manager Beverley Shaw said: “The support of businesses like Defyre Limited helps make events such as the Bunny Hop possible, ensuring hundreds of children can take part while raising funds that directly support patient care across Kirklees.
Their commitment to supporting us has been extensive, including a commitment to sponsor the Bunny Hop not only in 2026 but 2027 also.”
The Kirkwood looks forward to working closely with Daniel and Ellis at Defyre Limited as this year’s Bunny Hop inspires schools and communities to hop together in support of local hospice care.
