Benidorm or Bust
Local couple opt to take on the Benidorm or Bust Challenge: The Aim: To drive from Dover to Benidorm, The Game: To raise funds for Kirkwood Hospice.
A local Kirklees couple and owners of The Pie Shed Café in Dewsbury, James Conyers and Emma Maude, have chosen to take on the 2017 ‘Benidorm or Bust Challenge’ in order to raise funds for Kirkwood.
The Benidorm or Bust Challenge, also known as The Great Escape, is a UK car rally founded in 2011 whereby worthy competitors aim to drive from Dover to Benidorm in as cheap a car as possible, all in order to raise money for their chosen charities.

Entering at a fee of £220, over 200 bangers, all under £500, take part in the exciting four day mission each year.
James and Emma have opted to take part in their trusty orange £300 Volvo ‘Volgatti’, which will head off for its exciting destiny from Dover on the 7th June.

Taking part for their third time, the couple decided to raise funds for the Hospice after both owing a personal connection to Kirkwood.
James said: “My dad’s best friend spent his final days at Kirkwood and Emma has a connection too. We wanted to have a bit of fun while raising money for our local charity.”
James and Emma will be selling raffle tickets with prizes such as luxury afternoon teas and a month of free street dance lessons up for grabs, and will also raise donations through their Virgin Money Giving page.
To support James and Emma on their fundraising quest and for the chance to see the bright orange Volvo setting off in convoy, head down to The Pie Shed Café, Dewsbury, on Tuesday 6th June and visit their Virgin Money Giving page at: www.kirkwoodhospice.co.uk/benidorm to make a donation.
