Annual Christmas Experience takes place this weekend
The Kirkwood team are hard at work getting ready for this year's Christmas Experience! The event takes place on Saturday 19th and Sunday 20th of November, at a brand new venue – the National Coal Mining Museum for England. We will be hosting a range of traditional Christmas stalls and family entertainment, as well as giving younger visitors the chance to meet Santa himself. All proceeds raised go towards Hospice funds.
Following the huge success of last year’s event, with over 1,500 visitors, Kirkwood’s Christmas Experience is back for 2016. Now running across the whole weekend, The National Coal Mining Museum for England, on New Road in Overton will host the event for the first time. With the event now spread over two days, the Hospice hopes that visitors will get an extra day of Christmas fun. The event will open from 10am-4pm on Saturday and 10am-3pm on Sunday.
Christmas stalls will showcase an array of food and drink, children’s gifts, present items and other festive treats. Entertainment includes performances from local school choirs, brass bands and a very special Santa’s Craft Workshop for children.
Santa will be making a special appearance, meeting and greeting wide-eyed children in Santa’s Grotto on both days.
Event organiser Lyndsey Richardson says: “With our different and vintage-feel fair and activities, there really is something for everyone. We look forward to seeing you for a fabulous day out with the family.”
