A Christmas Eve gift in memory of Dionne

To pay tribute to his loving wife, Dionne, Mike Coburn generously donated £1,000 to help fund the running costs of The Kirkwood’s kitchen on Christmas Eve.

In 2016, Dionne Coburn was cared for at the end of her life and ever since then, Dionne’s friends and family have continued to raise vital funds for The Kirkwood through the Dionne Coburn Tribute Fund.

Christmas is a very special time of year for the Coburn family, with Christmas Eve being Dionne’s birthday.

As a way of celebrating her life this festive period, Mike has made an incredibly generous donation of £1,000 to help fund the running costs of our kitchen on Christmas Eve.

The donation, which has been raised through fundraising throughout the year, will ensure our patients are able to make special memories with their loved ones over festive meals.

Mike said: “As a family, we wanted to show our support to the families who will spend Christmas at Kirkwood. Christmas was always a very special time for us as it is for a lot of people.

"It was a double celebration for our family as Dionne’s birthday fell on Christmas Eve. We hope this gift in Dionne’s memory will help all the patients and families spending Christmas at Kirkwood who are in our thoughts.”
