Lorraine Chapman

Chair of Trustees

Lorraine is an experienced healthcare professional with over 20 years delivering NHS leadership roles. She draws on the insights and knowledge built up through her operational and strategic responsibilities to support the hospice movement.

Currently living in Birstall, Lorraine has her roots in Kirklees, and following her childhood in Mirfield a career with the NHS beckoned. Lorraine utilises the breadth of skills and expertise gained through working across all sectors in healthcare to make a valuable contribution to the local community in a voluntary capacity.

Appointed as Trustee of The Kirkwood in 2012, she has found the role immensely rewarding. Lorraine was elected as Chair of the Board of Trustees in March 2023. In addition, she holds a national role as a Trustee for Hospice UK, where she is a Member of the Major Grants Committee, and builds relationships across the hospice sector as Chair of the Hospice Boards Council.
