Julie lives in North London. She enjoys playing squash, practising yoga, and countryside writing retreats. Julie became a trustee for The Kirkwood in December 2018. Julie says: “I believe that everyone with a life limiting or terminal illness should receive timely and high quality palliative care at home or in specialist centres. It’s a huge privilege to be part of The Kirkwood’s governance structure to sustain its vital services for patients and their families in Kirklees. With changing demographics in an ageing society, we need to expand these services in the community in collaboration with GPs and care homes, develop innovative partnerships, workforce and funding models, a clear brand identity and effective communications”.
