Caroline Black
Trustee
Caroline was born and brought up in Glasgow but has lived in Huddersfield for the last 26 years and, despite the accent, considers herself an honorary Yorkshire woman.
After graduating with a Marketing degree and a spell in academia, she has specialised in professional services and legal marketing for over 30 years. She was previously Director of Marketing at commercial law firm, Walker Morris, where she supported the Board in strategic marketing, branding, communications, digital media and new business development.
Caroline has her own marketing consultancy and advises legal firms and barristers’ chambers on strategic marketing. She is also Senior Independent Director at Yorkshire Sport Foundation and a Trustee Director of Maggie’s. She is a Consultant for Next-Up – providing guidance on unretirement and helping employers and individuals use their skills and experience in new ways. As a Trustee on the Board, Caroline is keen to support the Chair and team in continuing its work of developing The Kirkwood to meet the challenges of the future. Caroline is Chair of the Marketing & Income Generation Committe.
With two grown up children, she now has more time to devote to her hobbies of running, pilates and growing vegetables very badly. She is also a master scuba diver.
