Waterloo Shop celebrates its 5th Birthday
Last week, staff and volunteers alike at Kirkwood’s charity shop in Waterloo celebrated a special day as they marked the 5th anniversary of the shop.
They put on a fine spread of cakes and refreshments for fellow staff, volunteers and customers to enjoy as they reflected on the past five years.
Waterloo has gone from strength to strength and recently underwent a huge refurbishment to double its floor space. The shop continues to be a thriving hub for the local community.

Volunteer, Chrissie Trollip, said: “John has made a change to lots of people’s lives. We wouldn’t do it if it wasn’t a pleasure, and John’s a pleasure to work for.
Bank staff member, Angela Tucker, said: “We’re doing something to give back, but we’re also getting something out of it too. It’s been a genuine pleasure building a community here and we are one big family.”
15-year-old volunteer, Chloe Hoggan, added: “It’s so much fun working here!”
Manger at Waterloo Shop, John Matthews, would like to thank his wonderful staff members including Glenys Wood, Angela Tucker and Toni Leigh Morley, and all of his brilliant volunteers for making the last five years possible.
