Towngate PLC give the Gift of Care to Kirkwood Hospice

Local commercial and industrial property experts, Towngate PLC, fund the cost of a specialist hoist to benefit patients at Kirkwood Hospice.

The Brighouse-based firm paid a recent visit to Kirkwood Hospice, visiting the teams of nurses and staff, and to see their piece of equipment in use.

The specialist hoist, worth over £2,000, will benefit the Hospice and aid patients to be moved safely and comfortably.

Speaking of the Corporate Gift, Stephen Guy, Director of Towngate, said: “We visited Sister Elaine earlier in the year and saw that there was a need for the hoist to be replaced.

“We were looking for a meaningful way to support the Hospice, and something tangible to fund towards in the knowledge that it would be used every day.

“After seeing the lovely gardens here at Kirkwood, we hoped that the hoist would give more people the opportunity to visit and enjoy them.” Stephen Guy

Nurses Jackie Holmes and Wendy Fitzpatrick use the hoist both in the Support & Therapy department and on the In-Patient Unit every day, and are extremely grateful to Towngate for their kind donation.

They said: “We wouldn’t be able to do our jobs without this hoist. Thank you so much for thinking of Kirkwood.”
