Step Up for 40 years of care and trek the Great Wall of China for The Kirkwood!
Join us in October 2027 for the adventure of a lifetime. To celebrate 40 incredible years of The Kirkwood, we’re inviting just 40 trekkers to take on one of the world’s most iconic landmarks in partnership with Global Adventures.
This is more than a trip; it’s a powerful journey of challenge, connection, and purpose, helping The Kirkwood continue to care for local people and families when they need it most. - Will you be one of the 40?

Over several unforgettable days, you’ll:
- Trek along ancient watchtowers and winding stone paths
Feel the history beneath your feet as you walk sections of the Wall that have stood for centuries.
- Experience breathtaking views and sunrises
Look out over rolling hills, remote villages, and dramatic landscapes you’ll never forget.
- Challenge yourself physically and mentally
Daily trekking, steps, climbs and descents—this is a real achievement you’ll be proud of.
- Share it with an amazing group of people
You’ll be part of a small, supportive team of 40 fundraisers, all walking for the same cause.
All logistics, guides and on-the-ground support are provided by our expert partners at Global Adventures, so you can focus on the experience and your fundraising. We will be hosting an interactive information evening at the hospice for those who have signed up.

Cost per individual: £349 deposit, plus £250 airport tax (payable 16 weeks before departure)
Fundraising target: £3,250 per person
- Return flights from London Heathrow to Beijing, transfers to and from Heathrow from The Kirkwood, all airport taxes and fuel surcharges.
