Hopton Quarry Shoot Ground

We were delighted to hear that we have been chosen as Charity of the Year 2022 by Hopton Quarry Shoot Ground. It was great to meet the team, headed up by Ben Wightman, Tom Wightman, Sue Wightman and Angela Mortimer, along with Natalie Beever, William Cook and Mike Leonard at one of their regular shoots. Thank you for choosing The Kirkwood and we look forward to supporting you with your fundraising throughout the coming year.

Fixby and Cowcliffe Community Support Group

If you saw a herd of Reindeers or Santa and his Elves dashing about the streets of Fixby and Cowcliffe back in December then the chances are that it was due to these amazing people. They worked so hard to bring cheer to all on some dark and wet December nights and they managed to raise an amazing amount of money for both the Fixby and Cowcliffe Community and for The Kirkwood too, it was an honour to present them with a cheque for £810. Since 2019 this group have raised £5192 to support The Kirkwood with Scarecrow Trails and Christmas Activities since 2019 and they’ve got much more .Thank you to all who took part and to those who donated, thank you for your support.

Charlie Ruttle’s Quiz Nights

It was the end of an era at the Radcliffe Arms, Almondbury as Charlie Ruttle held his final pub quiz. Charlie has been hosting quizzes to support The Kirkwood weekly since 2016 and regulars turned out in force and packed the pub to take part in the his last ever quiz night. Over the last five and a half years Charlie has donated a massive £7300 to support The Kirkwood which is incredible.  We would like to say a huge thanks to Charlie and all the quizzers who have supported him over the years. Oh and by the way, my answer is Denmark (you had to be there!)
