The Kirkwood welcomes Not Just Travel consultant, Joanna Doherty to The Business Movement.

We believe that everyone affected by a life limiting illness deserves the very best care. Care which helps to improve quality of life - for however long that may be. When time is short, The Kirkwood help everyone in our care to live well and make the most of every single day. This a statement that Not Just Travel consultant, Joanna Doherty, is all too familiar with. And it's what continues to drive her to support our vital work in her latest venture.

Prior to setting up her new home-based travel consultancy with the help of the award-winning agency, Not Just Travel, Joanna was employed by The Kirkwood as a Community Fundraiser. Having returned to her roots in swapping fundraising for the travel industry, Joanna is enjoying her new role. But she remains eager to support the charity which is close to her heart.

“I’m passionate about travel, and particularly love to plan complex trips and cruises, and it feels special being able to create someone's dream holiday.

“However, I miss supporting The Kirkwood and wanted to give something back and show my gratitude for the incredible care they gave my dad after he was diagnosed with terminal cancer in 2018.” 

Using an innovative Partners in Travel scheme devised by Not Just Travel, Joanna came up with the unique idea of combining two of her passions and turned her philanthropic idea into a reality.

For every travel booking she receives via The Kirkwood, whether from an employee, volunteer, or supporter, 10% of the commission goes to the charity. And the best thing of all – it doesn’t cost the holidaymaker anything.
