Ten Fourteen Hosts a Special Meal for The Kirkwood Volunteers

The Ten Fourteen Steakhouse Bar and Grill welcomed some of our volunteers for a delicious two-course meal at their stylish restaurant in the heart of Holmfirth. Nigel Turner and Jayne Coxhead, long-time friends of The Kirkwood and passionate supporters of our cause, were thrilled to host this special evening as a heartfelt thank you to some of our dedicated volunteers.

The Ten Fourteen Steakhouse Bar and Grill welcomed some of our volunteers for a delicious two-course meal at their stylish restaurant in the heart of Holmfirth. Nigel Turner and Jayne Coxhead, long-time friends of The Kirkwood and passionate supporters of our cause, were thrilled to host this special evening as a heartfelt thank you to some of our dedicated volunteers.

Having been deeply inspired by the tireless efforts of our volunteers throughout 2024, Nigel and Jayne wanted to show their appreciation for the incredible commitment shown by those who give their time so freely - whether in our shops, at the hospice, or providing support over the phone.

Their generosity doesn’t stop here; Nigel and Jayne have had a busy year fundraising for The Kirkwood, organising a variety of events including a fashion show, quiz nights, a brunch gathering, a Christmas fayre, and more.

Volunteers from across Kirklees joined the evening, representing our shops, gardening teams, fundraising groups, hospice teams, and Support Groups. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to relax and enjoy a well-earned treat in great company.

When asked about the evening, Volunteer Co-ordinator Janet Scholey said: “A fantastic time was had by all at Ten Fourteen, where our volunteers enjoyed a delightful evening of great food, drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. We were thrilled to have a diverse group from every department across the hospice join us, ensuring everyone was well-represented and celebrated on the night."

Trustee with The Kirkwood Ted Johnson added: “It’s only when you join the movement that you truly realise what an inspirational charity The Kirkwood is. I’ve come to understand that this is only possible thanks to the volunteers and their invaluable contributions. I want to take this opportunity to thank all of our volunteers for the amazing work they do, which benefits so many people.

I’d also like to thank our fantastic hosts and Business Movement members, Jayne and Nigel from Ten Fourteen, for this year’s volunteer thank you meal—it’s incredible. Despite the challenges facing the hospitality sector right now, Jayne and Nigel, along with their brilliant team, have shown remarkable generosity. They’ve raised thousands through events, quizzes, fashion shows, and more. Their support means so much.”

Finally, Jamie, Ten Fourteen Bar Manager commented: “We really enjoy hosting these thank you events. The volunteers are the star of the show, what they do is brilliant, so it is nice to be able to thank them for all their commitment and hard work throughout the year.”
