Snooker players raise funds for The Kirkwood
Jason Pegram and his team of snooker players last year raised an incredible £8,400 for The Kirkwood and will host the event again this year.
The event is run in memory of the snooker player, Paul Hunter. The event takes place at Jason's JP’s Snooker & Pool Club in Harlow, Essex. Our charity relies on the money raised by our amazing supporters, like Jason and his team. We’d like to thank Jason and the other competitors for their continued support.
On raising funds for The Kirkwood and running the event, Jason said: "The Kirkwood is really important to the people of Kirklees.. The Kirkwood team help local people with all kinds of situations and looks after people who have lost their loved ones too. We here in Essex feel very proud to raise the money we do for The Kirkwood as we know it's going to an unbelievable charity that does amazing things.
"The event is so popular now and is just getting bigger and bigger and we look to raise more and more funds every year too. It's a fantastic event which brings some fantastic snooker players together for a great cause. There are three other people I'd like to thank who help me organise it and that is Geoff Williams, Curtis Braithwaite and Colin Gross. They help to organise the fundraising days that lead up to the main snooker event, as well as the event itself . We couldn’t hold the snooker competition without them.
"It's not about snooker or who wins the golf, it's about coming together, having a laugh and raising some money for an important cause."
