Sam and Leanne host their The Kirkwood Cuppa

We as a charity like to bring people together and sometimes it can be over the simplest things like a good cup of tea. This Autumn we are encouraging people to boil up a kettle, get the tea bags or coffee in the cup and make sure you have a scone or cake to hand and come together to raise funds for The Kirkwood.

This Saturday 30th September is what Sam and Leanne Taylore-O’Brien are doing. They have decided to host a The Kirkwood Cuppa at The Kirkwood’s site in Dalton. The two women are very excited to raise funds for a charity that they both hold dear to their hearts.

Leanne’s uncle and auntie were cared for by our amazing nurses, they both sadly died as we were caring for them.

Due to the fantastic care we gave them, Leanne and her partner Sam wanted to raise funds for The Kirkwood and have done for a number of years now.

On the coffee morning they are hosting on Saturday Sam said: “We are really excited about hosting our event, we did a similar one last year which went down really well. We love being able to support The Kirkwood and give something back, especially when they supported Leanne’s auntie and uncle so much.

“I would like to invite anyone down to our event at Dalton, we will be there between 10am-2pm.

"We hope you can come down, have a cuppa with us, a slice of cake, take part in our raffle and overall help support us to support a charity that is so important in our local community. We’d like to raise around £1,300 from the event. I think that'd be a great target for us."

Everyone involved with The Kirkwood movement would like to thank Sam and Leanne for their continued and valued support and we hope to see many people at their event on Saturday.
