Mirfield Furniture Store celebrates its first anniversary with special discount all weekend

Our Mirfield Furniture Store kicked off its first anniversary celebrations on Friday and are offering customers a massive 20% discount all weekend.

The retail team at The Kirkwood Furniture Store in Mirfield are celebrating a major milestone this weekend as the store turns one. As well as hosting a coffee morning, which was held on Friday 27th May, the store team are inviting customers to pop down and get their hands on a real bargain – with 20% off all donated items all weekend.

The store, located in Foldhead Mills on Huddersfield Road, Mirfield, opened last year and has already proved popular with local people looking for high quality items at great prices. The store offers a fantastic range of quality items including tables, chairs, sofa's, beds and cabinets. The team also stock a large range of brand new accessories and household items.

To kick off their celebration weekend, the Furniture Store team put on a great spread, with delicious cakes and refreshments served to customers throughout the morning.

Paul Freetham, Head of Retail for The Kirkwood, has recently joined the charity and has been impressed with the charity’s retail operation so far, and was delighted to attend the birthday bash in his very first week.

Paul said: "Since I have arrived, everyone connected with The Kirkwood has made me feel very welcome. The Kirkwood are a wonderful organisation who help thousands of people here in Kirklees every year.

“Our shops play a major role in supporting the vital care provided by The Kirkwood Nurses in people’s own homes in towns like Mirfield. The Kirkwood are part of the community here in Kirklees and our shops a part of that.

"We are very proud of how the shops have been updated over the past year; each of our shops has a different atmosphere, each has its own character, and nowhere is that truer than in our fantastic furniture store in Mirfield.

"As we celebrate the store’s first birthday, I’d encourage you all to come and take a look and take advantage of our 20% discount on all donated goods this weekend.

Mirfield Furniture Store Manager, Julia Smith, added: "Our Furniture Store has some wonderful products for sale and we are proud of what we have on offer.

Julia also reflected on her time with The Kirkwood.

"I'm really enjoying my role as manager and love working with the staff and volunteers that help out in the shop.

“We are lucky to receive such amazing support from our local community here in Mirfield. From our donors to our customers, and of course, our amazing volunteers – they all play a huge role in making sure we can continue to care for families in need, when and where they need us.”
