Lottery Winners story - John Moonie.

John Moonie from Skelmanthorpe had a very Good Friday in April, winning our top prize in our weekly Big K Lottery, banking a grand total of £750.

John has been playing The Big K Lottery since 2018 in support of The Kirkwood and up until this point has never been the lucky winner of the top prize. Over the moon to receive the news of his win John revealed he had a Caribbean holiday on the horizon and was planning to use his winnings to treat his family to some extra treats before they were due to depart for the sunshine.

In 2018 John received the news that his very good friend, Andrew Chippendale had been diagnosed with liver cancer and was going to be receiving care at The Kirkwood on our In-Patient Unit. Upon visiting his friend, John was blown away by the care and support given to his friend, expressing “the gardens were beautiful and all the team were wonderful”

Several weeks after Andrew had died, John received a knock at the door from one of our lottery canvas team members, signing up the Big K Lottery that day with two weekly numbers, and after four years of being a loyal player to The Big K Lottery John hit the jackpot winning our top prize! With bags packed ready for his holiday John planned on enjoying a few more extras on his family vacation to the Dominican Republic with his winnings.
