Let’s get ready to rumble for The Kirkwood as Dom Richardson brings back wrestling event

UK Wrestler, Dominic Richardson is once again hosting an evening of fun, drama and entertainment at Batley's UKW Arena on the 4th February to raise funds for The Kirkwood. Dom has previously held two successful events in 2018 and 2019.  

After a few years away he is now back to put on another spectacular event with some fabulous fights. Taking place on Saturday 4th February, doors will open at 5:30pm. With wrestlers from across the country as well as titles to defend, it’s sure to be a night to remember!  

A suggested £5 donation on the door will secure your seat, there will also be a collection for The Kirkwood to help raise as much as possible towards The Kirkwood’s vital work.  

The event is poignant as it is being run in the memory of Dom's first wife Carrieanne who was cared for at the end of her life by The Kirkwood.  

Carrieanne died on the 7th August 2014 after being cared for at the end of life by The Kirkwood. 

On the care we provided Carrieanne, Dom said: "The Kirkwood are a fantastic local charity who care for people in difficult circumstances, they looked after Carrieanne brilliantly and I can't thank them enough for that, nothing was ever too much and that's why I wanted to raise funds for them."  

Dominic is a keen wrestler and has followed the sport since he was 8 years old; deciding to take up the hobby in 2015 in the lead up to the first anniversary of Carrieanne’s death. 

On the upcoming event and reflecting on the previous ones, Dom added: "In 2018 it was the first one I did, it went really well so I decided we could do it as an annual event. We did it again in 2019 but when it came to 2020 the pandemic put all plans on hold. I tried to organise it again in 2022 but the dates just couldn't be matched up and so thankfully this year it's all come together.  

"A lot of hard work and organisation has gone into the event and I'm sure it will be great on the night. We have some fantastic fights lined up and can't wait to entertain the crowd."  

The matches that have already been announced for the night are:  

Alex Sallers VS The Alpha Predator Rex Savage in the Final Chapter Of Monster Island. 

JPR VS Joe Sedgwick Wrestler and Ian Creed VS Young Horus for the UK Wrestling (UKW) Championship. 

Disciple fight is a professional Wrestler VS Lance Revera and Playboy Prince for the Non Stop Action Wrestling World Class Championship. 

The Playtime Mafia (Jayrow Lewis & Cerebral ste) VS The Modern Day Mafia (Joel Cobra & Dave Douglas). 

There will also be a Tag Team Battle Royal to crown the inaugural NSAW Tag Team Champions.
