Juice Personnel’s Business Movement Spotlight

The Kirkwood are always thrilled to showcase the inspiring individuals and businesses connected to our Business Movement. These partnerships not only support our charity but also bring positivity and purpose to our shared mission.

In this edition, we had the pleasure of speaking with Kelly Smith, Recruitment Director at Juice Personnel, a recruitment consultancy that has been making waves across West Yorkshire for over two decades.

Kelly is a seasoned recruitment professional with over 20 years of experience. As an REC-qualified commercial recruitment director, Kelly wears many hats, managing everything from client care to strategic planning at Juice Personnel. Her extensive expertise and passion for recruitment make her a driving force behind the business's success.

On the company Kelly said: “Juice Personnel are a local independent consultancy based in Horbury but supporting the whole of West Yorkshire with temporary and permanent staffing solutions.

“Celebrating our 22nd birthday in February 2025, we are a small but mighty team and support clients ranging from 1 employee to 200 employees and cover multi-sectors including Commercial, Logistics, Construction, and Care. We love recruitment so that you don’t have to!”

Juice Personnel takes pride in being more than just a recruitment agency. Kelly explained: “Juice Personnel has always been known to be more of an integral partner to our clients' HR function, supporting them and providing advice as well as a recruitment service,"

"We get to know our clients' business inside out, learning about their values, culture, and growth plans. Our recruitment experience and market knowledge place us in a very strong position to give our clients outstanding service, and we’re working with clients today who supported us when we very first opened almost 22 years ago.”

This client focused approach has earned Juice Personnel a stellar reputation in the industry, and Kelly is determined to maintain it.

She said: “Recruitment can, and does, carry a bad reputation sometimes. I work tirelessly to make sure my clients and candidates have the best experience they possibly can.”

Juice Personnel’s commitment to excellence extends to their involvement with The Kirkwood.

On supporting our charity, she said: “The Kirkwood is a great network with amazing opportunities to meet like minded business people whilst all the while supporting the hospice,”

“Local hospices need all the support they can get, especially at the moment. So it’s our privilege to be a member and to be able to support in the small way that we can.”

Outside of her busy professional life, Kelly cherishes her role as a mum and enjoys outdoor adventures with her family and dog, Barney.

“I love being a mum, running the kids here, there and everywhere, even though I moan about it, I’ll miss it when they don’t need me as much!

“We love walking our dog and can often be found in the Peak District or the Lakes, walking up big hills and calling for a well earned pint,” she shared.

Kelly’s love of travel has also inspired her family’s latest venture: a campervan conversion.

“We’ve recently had our van converted into a campervan, so I’m hoping to spend more time travelling and getting to use that. We’d like to retire in a motorhome with the roads of Europe at our feet”

When asked about her ideal weekend, Kelly’s response was refreshingly down to earth.

She said: “Good food, a couple of pints, and plenty of fresh air. Watching the kids enjoy their sports and walking my dog Barney.”

Kelly enjoys using social media to connect with others and share her experiences.

On using social media platforms she said “If you were to measure my favourite by the amount of time I spend on them, it would have to be LinkedIn. I use this daily and find it a great platform for connecting and meeting new people with shared business interests.”

“Facebook is probably my favourite waste of time. I try to limit how much time I spend on here, but I do love to see people in their ‘personal settings.’”

Her favourite emoji? The laughing face, of course!

“I love to laugh and find humour in most things. That or the love heart!” she said.

Kelly's passion for her work and her commitment to making a difference is a shining example of what our Business Movement stands for. We’re grateful for the support of Juice Personnel and look forward to seeing how Kelly and her team continue to thrive while contributing to our shared cause.
