Ella, Alice and Grace raise funds for The Kirkwood in memory of their grandma by baking cakes

Earlier this summer three local girls decided to raise some funds for The Kirkwood in memory of their grandma Lesley Ryan by baking cakes and selling them to her neighbours. 

The Kirkwood cared for Lesley in her final weeks of her life back in 2020. Ella Lockwood aged 10 along with her siblings Alice aged 7 and Grace aged 4 spent a full week baking delicious cakes to then sell. They raised a fantastic £250 for The Kirkwood, all three children should be proud of their efforts. 

Mum Freya said of the children's desire to raise some funds for The Kirkwood. 

She said "We wanted to hold the cake sale outside and so we waited until it became summer time. The kids really wanted to do something special for The Kirkwood and were really happy they managed to raise what they did. 

"They spent a whole week baking and it was really impressive what they had managed to make. The village of Luddenden where we live really enjoyed the kids baking." 

Everyone at The Kirkwood would like to say a huge well done and thank you to Ella, Alice and Grace and everyone involved with the bake sale.
