Business Movement Spotlight meet Pearson Financial Wellbeing

The Kirkwood’s Business Movement brings together businesses from across our community who want to make a difference while building meaningful connections with other local organisations.

In our latest Business Movement Spotlight, we meet Eden Pearson, the Financial Planner and Managing Director of Pearson Financial Wellbeing, to discover more about the business, his passion for helping people feel confident about their finances and why supporting The Kirkwood is important to him and his team.

Pearson Financial Wellbeing (PFW) is now in its 20th year, with the team bringing together more than 40 years of combined experience in the financial services industry.

At the heart of the business is a commitment to providing a dedicated and personal service, helping clients build strong foundations to achieve their financial goals and look towards the future with greater confidence.

Eden explained: “At Pearson Financial Wellbeing, we provide a dedicated personal service to all our clients, helping them create a firm foundation in meeting their financial objectives so they can look to the future with confidence and understanding.

“We aim to give our clients trust in their financial plans and assurance that we will continue to be there for them as their circumstances change.”

Three years ago, the business rebranded as Pearson Financial Wellbeing, a decision which reflected Eden and the team’s desire to challenge the perception that financial advice is only for people who already have significant wealth.

Eden said: “Many people assume that you need to have ‘wealth’ to use a financial adviser; however, this is not the case. It is important to us that we are available to help anyone who would benefit from our services. We believe that the decisions we help our clients make allow them to achieve financial peace of mind both now and in the future.”

For Eden, what makes Pearson Financial Wellbeing stand out is simple, clients are at the heart of everything the team does. Financial planning can sometimes feel complicated or overwhelming, so the team focuses on making advice easy to understand and practical to implement.

Eden said: “We deliver personalised financial planning that is easy to understand, practical to implement and focused on building long-term financial confidence. Our tailored approach, expert guidance and commitment to improving overall wellbeing help clients achieve lasting positive change.”

For Eden, a successful working day isn't necessarily measured by numbers. It's about the difference the team has made to clients and their families: “A good working day is one where we’ve helped clients and their families feel more confident and in control of their finances,” he said.

He continued: “Success for us is seeing clients leave meetings with greater clarity, reduced financial stress and practical steps towards a better financial future. The most rewarding part of this job is seeing clients fulfil their dreams and feel in control of a very complex, yet important, part of their lives.”

That ability to make a positive difference to people's lives is also what motivates Eden and the team to keep working hard. Financial worries can have an impact on many different areas of life, and Pearson Financial Wellbeing wants its clients to feel informed, confident and supported when making important decisions. Eden explained: “We are motivated by the opportunity to make a real difference. At Pearson Financial Wellbeing, we help people improve their financial confidence and wellbeing, and seeing the positive impact of that support is what drives us to work hard. Knowing that our work can reduce financial stress and help people achieve their goals gives us a strong sense of purpose.”

We're delighted to have Pearson Financial Wellbeing as part of The Kirkwood Business Movement. For Eden and his team, becoming a member provides an opportunity to give something back to the local community while building relationships with other people and businesses across Kirklees. The decision to support The Kirkwood has also been influenced by the experiences of people close to the business.

Eden said: “We’re excited to be building this partnership with The Kirkwood and to have the opportunity to give back to our local community while connecting with new people along the way. Over the years, close friends and many of our clients have shared heartfelt stories about the care and support The Kirkwood has provided to them and their families, making it an easy choice for us to support such an incredible charity.”

We're incredibly grateful to Eden and everyone at Pearson Financial Wellbeing for choosing to stand alongside The Kirkwood.

The support of businesses like PFW helps us continue to be there for local people and families when they need us, while our Business Movement creates opportunities for organisations to connect, collaborate and make a positive difference in their community.

Away from the world of financial planning, sport plays a big part in Eden's life, particularly cricket. He enjoys both playing and watching the game and has recently caught the padel bug. Eden also enjoys heading out for a meal with friends, although his favourite way to spend his free time is with his family and walking his dog, Rufus.

Instagram gets Eden's vote when it comes to his favourite social media platform: He said: “It is great seeing what your friends are up to, and sharing daft videos and comfort food ideas with friends!”

As a huge cricket fan, there's also a sporting adventure sitting firmly on Eden's bucket list: “I would love to do a ‘Barmy Army tour’ of the Caribbean or Australia,” he said.

Unsurprisingly, cricket also features in Eden's perfect weekend. It would begin with a morning coffee and cuddles with his daughter, before heading out for a game of cricket at his beloved Scholes Cricket Club. He’d enjoy a nice cold pint followed by a good meal, the ideal end to Eden's weekend.

Whether it’s helping clients feel more confident about their financial future, enjoying time with his family or supporting the community around him, making a positive difference is clearly important to Eden. We’re delighted to have Eden and the team at Pearson Financial Wellbeing as part of The Kirkwood Business Movement, and we look forward to building our relationship with them as they continue to support our work caring for local people and families across Kirklees.
