Boxing4You 2023 a huge success
Annual white collar boxing competition Boxing4You has now raised over £50,000 for The Kirkwood.
We continue to care for hundreds of people across the Kirklees community with a life limiting illness. We can only do this with people’s very generous donations towards The Kirkwood, your donations make a huge difference with every penny going back into patient care. Boxing4You has once again raised thousands of pounds for charity as their annual competition took place at the end of last year. Dave Palmer, Ben Sullivan and Josh White punched their way through some tough rounds of blood, sweat and tears and it was all in the name of The Kirkwood.
Collectively since 2016 the enthralling night of pumped up action has raised over £160,000 for charity, and £50,000 of that has come to The Kirkwood.
Our lion-hearted fighters went through an intensive and professional ten week training course run by Left Jab Boxing before showing their skills off back in October at Huddersfield's Smile Bar.
On how well the event went Sean Reynolds from Left Jab Boxing said: "Once again our Boxing4You event was a huge success, firstly thanks to all the fighters for taking part in this year's event, thanks to those who came to watch and cheer on those participating and lastly thanks to those who donated towards some amazing causes.
“Knowing that we have now raised over £160,000 for charity is just such a good feeling and shows our collective community spirit is still here.
“One of the charities, The Kirkwood, is particularly close to our hearts because it's local and does such a good job caring for those people with life limiting illnesses.
"We've raised over £50,000 for The Kirkwood alone and knowing those funds are going towards vital care across Kirklees makes us as a Boxing4You team incredibly proud.”
