Woodsome Hall announce The Kirkwood as charity of the year.

We had the absolute delight of meeting Woodsome Hall Golf Club's newly appointed captains, Clare and Rob, earlier this year, and were thrilled to discover that they had chosen us as their Charity of the Year, deciding to support The Kirkwood throughout their captaincies. We cannot wait to join forces with Clare and Rob to turn their fundraising aspirations into a roaring success this year.

Woodsome Hall Golf Club is a place that values tradition and is known for offering a grand experience to its members. Located on a stunning 134-acre estate with breathtaking views of the 18-hole golf range, the club boasts a rich history and provides a challenging test of skill for golfers of all levels. With high-quality greens and excellent hospitality, guests can enjoy a truly memorable experience. But that's not all – the club is also known for supporting various charities and making a positive impact on the community and this year they have chosen The Kirkwood.

Recently, Clare and Rob became captains of the year at Woodsome Hall, and have kindly decided to support The Kirkwood, a charity close to their hearts, during their captaincy this year. As Rob aptly put it, "There are so many things the club has done over the years for charities. Each new captain selects the charity they wish to support during their year." Both Clare and Rob have personal reasons for selecting The Kirkwood as their charity of choice, and they are looking forward to working together to raise as much as they can for this worthy cause.

During a recent conversation, Clare and Rob discussed their plans for the year and brainstormed various fundraising ideas. They reflected on what had worked well in previous years and how they could adapt those ideas to suit this year's fundraising efforts. Clare suggested reintroducing the water challenge during the Ladies Captains Day event. In this challenge, if your ball goes into the water, you pay a "fine," and that money gets put into the fundraising pot. Similarly, Rob mentioned the charity Captain's Charity Medal Day, where donations were received during the evening dining experience.

The conversation quickly moved to discuss the Mixed Medal Day to launch their year of fundraising for The Kirkwood on May 5th. As Rob reminisced about a previous fundraising idea, he mentioned a member who had been given a box of twelve golf balls with his name written on them. Everyone put £5 into the sweepstake-style pot to guess how long it would take him to lose them. Rob jokingly continued that there will be all sorts of little bits of quirky and fun opportunities like that where they can fundraise throughout the year.

The Big Charity Day Fundraiser of the year will be held in September, on the course and within the clubhouse. The Big Charity Fundraiser Day will include various activities and challenges, and members of Woodsome Hall can keep an eye on the bulletin board for upcoming events and activities. Clare and Rob will also set up a Joint Captains' JustGiving page to make it easier for people to donate and help them reach their fundraising target. With the support of the Woodsome Hall community, Clare and Rob are excited to make a positive impact on The Kirkwood and those who benefit from our services.
