Tina Quinn

Trustee

Tina’s career providing NHS services started in 1980 and finished in 2017 when she retired. She initially worked as a speech and language therapist in Wakefield, Gateshead and Warrington before finally settling down to work in Kirklees.  She provided therapy to children in North and South Kirklees, specialising in helping children with speech and language difficulties from ethnic minority backgrounds which led to a Masters qualification and various publications. She also worked with families with youngsters who had very specific and sometimes debilitating speech and language disorders.

Tina moved into management in 2004 - first within Speech & Language Therapy but eventually at a more strategic level within Locala Community Partnerships. There, she held roles as Director of Clinical and Operational Services and as Director of Quality. She also worked within Kirklees Safeguarding as a member of the Safeguarding Adults Board.

Tina has lived in Kirklees since 1986 in the village of Upperthong just outside Holmfirth. She has many interests and particularly enjoys watching Formula One Racing and Cricket. She also enjoys travelling and has visited many parts of the world.

She says: “I believe that Kirkwood is an excellent charity providing much needed services for the people of Kirklees, not only in the Hospice but also out in the Community. I am looking forward to adding my expertise to ensure and support the continued delivery of high quality services."
