Dr Ian Wilson

Dr Ian Wilson is a doctor works locally as a consultant in pain medicine and anaesthesia, and is a Fellow of the Faculty of Pain Medicine of the Royal College of Anaesthetists. He has a wide range of experience in medical leadership and management in the hospital and professional association sectors including board-level and governance experience.

Ian has worked extensively with the British Medical Association and is a former Chief Officer and Gold Medallist of the BMA. These duties have included occasionally advising government and arms-length bodies on issues such as end of life care, managing complex pain, education and training, and workforce planning.

Ian and his family, the youngest of whom has Downs Syndrome, live in West Yorkshire, He enjoys gardening, skiing and theatre of all types. He is convinced he missed out on a glittering West End career and has been trying his hand at AmDram. To mixed reviews…
