Light up a Life

Dedicate a light in memory of someone special this December.

We all have our own ways of remembering the people we love. Sometimes it's a favourite photograph, a familiar song, a treasured story or a little tradition that brings them close. Sometimes, it's simply the memories we carry with us every day.

As the leaves start to fall and the days get shorter, we're thinking about the people we love who are no longer with us, and celebrating the many ways we keep them close to our hearts.

We'd love you to join us this year by dedicating a light on our beautiful tree in their memory.

This December, we'll once again host events at The Kirkwood Gardens in Dalton and at Longcauseway Church in Dewsbury.

When you've made a dedication to your loved one, you will receive a heartfelt card with your loved one's name. We would also like to invite you to one of our events, held on Saturday 5th December and Sunday 6th December for a memorable evening of readings, music, and moments for reflection, as well as the lighting of our tree, each light shining brightly in memory of your loved ones. Make a Dedication Online

Our online dedication page is available for you to remember your loved one by sharing a heartfelt message and a photo if you desire. This page serves as a significant and lasting way to immortalise the memories of someone you hold dear during the festive period, with the opportunity to invite your family and friends to view your tribute, no matter where they are.

Please note that any dedications now received will still be processed but the dedication cards and homepacks will not reach you in time ahead of the event. You can still join in and watch the livestream from home, without your home pack, joining instructions are available below.

If you choose to make a dedication online, we'll automatically send you a heartfelt card bearing the name of the person you love. If you would like to attend one of our in-person events, please give our team a call on 01484 557 911 after making your dedication online to reserve your place.

Everyone who makes a dedication online will automatically receive a homepack. If you’d prefer not to receive one, please let us know by emailing fundraising@thekirkwood.org.uk or call 01484 557 911.

Sunday 6th December at 5pm – The Kirkwood Gardens, Huddersfield
Sunday 6th December at 10.30am – Longcauseway Church, Dewsbury
