Spooky goings on at NEXT in Birstall
Staff at the NEXT retail store in Birstall got into the Halloween spirit last weekend, hosting a gloriously ghoulish party for the team in aid of Kirkwood Hospice.
A group of employees pulled out all the stops to create a spectacularly spooky Halloween party for the NEXT retail team last weekend. The team put on creepy outfits for the occasion and even helped customers in the shop dressed as their favourite spooky characters.
Behind the scenes, the NEXT team spent hours decorating their staff room, turning it into a nightmare themed wonderland, with staff all bringing something to add to its eerie feel.

The team also brought in spooky Halloween treats for their fundraising event. Cakes, sandwiches and blood red jams were all contributed by staff members who then made a donation for their lunch, with all proceeds being donated to the Hospice.
The event came about after the team at NEXT in Birstall asked about doing something for a local cause.
Hannah Sipka, who organised the event, enquired to NEXT’s head office about the possibility of getting staff involved in a fundraising drive and was delighted with how it went.
“The weekend was fab, a real morale booster for the team. With everyone getting involved, whether dressing up or bringing food in for our Halloween buffet, everyone really enjoyed themselves.
“Many of us were first made aware of Kirkwood after listening to the Pulse radio station and hearing how much it costs each day to run the Hospice.
“We also have staff members in store whose family members have needed the Hospice and that was another reason why we wanted to support Kirkwood.”
Kirkwood is celebrating its 30th Anniversary in 2017 and is asking the community to host parties for them throughout the year. We were delighted when the NEXT team decided to host a special Halloween party at their store.
