The Sunflower Garden Party

Join us Saturday 6th July from 11 till 3pm for The Sunflower Garden Party, where everyone is welcome! Enjoy a fun filled day with live music, BBQ, stalls, Bird of Prey, and lots more! Bask in the sunny atmosphere this July at what promises to be an unforgettable day packed with excitement and entertainment.

This brand new family friendly event is free to enter with something for everyone to enjoy. We hope you’ll join us this Summer for a great day out.

Enjoy a summer's day in The Kirkwood Gardens with your family and friends this July and celebrate the lives of your loved ones past and present.

Refreshments will be available throughout the day, including freshly cooked food from our BBQ, and tasty sweet treats that will be available to buy. There will also be live entertainment throughout the day, birds of prey, plenty of stalls to peruse, lots of games to play, as well as crafts and face paints, with the option to donate towards helping our volunteer gardening team continue their incredible work, creating a safe and serene space for our in-patients and their families to enjoy.

Our Sunflower Garden Party is also a great opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the vital work of The Kirkwood with one of our team members on hand on the day, or if you are interested in volunteering and helping The Kirkwood in some way, our friendly Fundraising Team are also on hand to let you know how you can get involved.

If you’ve made a dedication to our Sunflower Memories Appeal, you’ll be able to view your Sunflower plaque among a beautiful display and take it home with you.

Entry on the day is free, with donations welcome.

From a tiny seed in 1981, the idea of a hospice for Kirklees sprouted, and from those humble beginnings rooted in community spirit grew The Kirkwood, established in 1987, and has since blossomed over the last 36 years, spanning the breadth of Kirklees, supporting anyone living with life-limiting illness and their families, not only at our base in Dalton but also in the homes and care homes of those that need us.
