The Kirkwood Memorial Trail Bike Ride
Cycling enthusiast and huge The Kirkwood supporter Richard Poole has set up a memorial mountain bike ride in memory of his partner Katrina who died in 2020 after being cared for at home. Richard would like to welcome cycling enthusiasts of all abilities and ages to come and take part in his event in 2024.
Starting from Shepley Cricket Club, Richard has created three challenging rides of different lengths, the three routes people can take part in are as follows, a long route of 26 miles, a slightly shorter route of 15 miles and a juniors circuit which is three laps of Shepley Cricket Club.
The Kirkwood was founded by a group of local people who believed that everyone deserved the very best care and support as they approached the end of their life, creating a hospice for Kirklees. The Kirkwood movement is made up of amazing local people, united behind one common purpose – to ensure the people of Kirklees have access to the very best end of life care. To help us deliver this, we rely on the support of local people who believe in the difference The Kirkwood makes for anyone affected by life-limiting illnesses.
The registration fee for The Kirkwood Memorial Bike Ride is £18,
