Choosing the perfect Christmas tree with family can be a magical moment for the memory books; donning the wellies and bobble hats, ambling through pine scented rows and sizing up all types of trees - some tall, some small and one that is just right. Planning how you'll dispose of your real Christmas Tree once the festivities are over, however, can be a pain.
The Kirkwood can help you with that.
From January 11th our tree-mendous team of volunteers will be primed and ready for another year of collections right across the Kirklees area, ensuring no tree is left behind!

When you book your Real Christmas Tree Collection with The Kirkwood, you will be helping our incredible nurses, doctors and healthcare professionals to deliver the best possible care to patients, carers and families in your local area.
With your help, we'd love to increase this and collect as many trees as possible with another bumper year of piney fresh smells and recycling!

Volunteer & help out
Join us and help us to collect our real Christmas trees in 2024.
If you are a driver or a driver's mate who can spare a little time to volunteer and help us collect Christmas trees, we'd love to hear from you.
If you do not drive or are not comfortable driving one of our vans you can also volunteer to be one of our driver’s mates. You will then assist the main driver with navigation, and collection of Christmas trees and help unload them at our tree drop-off points to be chipped.

Where does my tree go?
During January we will be collecting real Christmas trees throughout Kirklees for recycling, depositing them at our many drop-off locations where our tree surgeons and chippers will be waiting to turn your pre-loved real Christmas tree into natural path chippings in a country park or even create new habitats for local wildlife. A simple and efficient way to help the environment and your local hospice too.
