Name: The Captain Tom 100

The Captain Tom 100

We’re inviting you, your family and friends to take part in Captain Tom 100 from Friday 30 April to Bank Holiday Monday (3 May 2021) to celebrate Captain Sir Tom Moore’s amazing achievements and raise vital funds for The Kirkwood.

The coronavirus pandemic has had a big impact on our ability to raise the funds we need to support people affected by life limiting illnesses here in Kirklees, with the cancellation of major events, the closure of our shops and restrictions placed on how our brilliant supporters are able to fundraise for us. Despite the challenges we face, we continue to do everything we can to keep the most vulnerable in our communities safe - because it's the right thing to do.

Inspired by the incredible achievements of Captain Sir Tom Moore, The Captain Tom 100 gives everyone the chance to raise funds for The Kirkwood.

Get inspired

Everyone – of all ages and abilities – is invited to take on a challenge around the number 100, any time and anywhere over Captain Tom’s birthday weekend, starting on Friday 30 April through to Bank Holiday Monday 3 May. All you need to do is dream up your Captain Tom 100 and get started!

It could be walking 100 steps or running 100 metres, scoring 100 goals, baking 100 cakes, climbing 100 stairs, hopping 100 laps of the garden, building 100 sandcastles, writing a 100-word poem, flipping 100 pancakes – anything at all, inside or out. It’s your chance to do it your way and help to raise much needed funds for The Kirkwood at the same time.
